<- This is me. I make random things (including a gorgon hat and tail).

Sometimes I crochet little monsters and send them out into the world to take humans on adventures. You can follow their stories on the Travelling Monsters website.

I love crafts, and have tried my hand at all sorts including pottery, glass bead making, beadweaving and photo collage. At the moment, I am mostly working in crochet. I am very interested in working with recycled materials, and looking for more ways to use them, although sometimes the pull of shiny new yarn is just too strong to resist. I sell my work through my etsy shop. I’m always up for a challenge, so if there’s something you think I could make for you, drop me a line and we can chat.

Here’s some of the most useful advice on creating that I’ve found.

“Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.”

“Perfect is the enemy of complete.” See also, “Aim for excellence, not perfection.”

I love the book, “The War of Art“. I don’t think I’ve ever read more than 20 pages of it, because I always put it down, stop procrastinating and get the hell on with whatever I was supposed to be working on.

Finally, one from me: “Hot glue is hot.” Learn from my pain, and keep a spoon (or whatever works for you) handy to smooth down the fabric you’ve just glued.
