Mum’s Bracelet

Ages ago I made this bracelet for my mum. I made all the beads from glass in our mini lampworking studio aka the garden shed. Because my bead-making technique is not all that it could be, the beads cut through the nylon filament* I used to thread them. I’ve restrung them with two strands of tiger tail this time. Hopefully that will do the trick.

This has reminded me that when my spoons allow, I want to get back into making beads again. I love playing with glass. Although sitting over the burner and next to the kiln is not something you want to be doing in 25° C heat, so maybe an autumn thing. Or when the usual British summer resumes.

* fishing line. Buy it from a sports shop, it’s waaaaaay cheaper than when it’s sold for jewellery making.
