I’ve been at the NineWorlds geekfest for the last few days, having a wonderful time. Helen Foster-Turner from London Metal Clay ran a brilliant workshop where we tried out different techniques for working with metal clay using moulds, textures, cutting and sculpting. The clay is a fantastically malleable material, almost pure metal with a small percentage of bonding agent that sets during firing. Here are my efforts in bronze clay pre-firing.

The wolf and the stars are made using moulds. The oval is done applying a texture from a special sheet.
I can’t wait to see what they look like after they’ve been fired and polished! They should be back in a couple of week’s time.
